Roads, vehicles and snow exceptions
The exemption covers the three-hour rule and overnight parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. All other parking rules remain in force. It does not authorize parking in a prohibited space.
Apartment and housing-complex residents are ineligible. Private, regional and provincial roads are outside the program. A registered vehicle must also meet the town’s size and vehicle-type restrictions.
Town-wide plowing or salting cancels all exemptions during the snow event. For construction-related parking, register even when the work is on the sidewalk or boulevard; these requests do not count against the annual pass limit.

Can my visitor apply instead of me?
The program is a resident registration system for guests, contractors and other infrequent visitors.
How long should first-time approval take?
Allow up to five days before the approved account can issue permits.
Can I leave a permit in the windscreen?
No physical permit is issued. Keep the correct vehicle and dates in the online account.
Can one request cover a full month?
No. One request is limited to seven days.
Does a permit allow parking during snow clearing?
No. Exemptions are cancelled during a winter weather event requiring town-wide plowing or salting.
Can I register a large commercial vehicle?
Not if it exceeds 2.6 m wide, 7 m long or 5,000 kg. Other vehicle classes have separate size limits.
Do construction requests use my 12-request allowance?
The town says registered construction-related requests do not count against that allowance.
What should I do for a wedding?
Contact Transportation Services at least two weeks ahead for event parking arrangements.
