About the role
Whitby Abrasives is hiring a hands-on Warehouse Manager to take ownership of daily warehouse operations. Your main priorities will be preparing replenishment shipments to Amazon Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) warehouses and fulfilling daily e-commerce customer orders.
You will manage the process from checking inventory and picking products to packing, labelling, arranging pickups, and tracking shipments. This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, stays organized, and takes responsibility for getting the right products to the right destination on time.
You should be comfortable working independently and actively picking, packing, and shipping orders as part of your daily responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
Amazon FBA shipments
- Prepare and manage FBA replenishment shipments through Amazon Seller Central.
- Pick and verify products, SKUs, quantities, and product labels before packing.
- Follow current Amazon requirements for product preparation, packaging, carton contents, and shipment labels.
- Record carton weights and dimensions, prepare shipping documents, and arrange courier or freight pickups.
- Prepare pallet shipments when required and monitor shipments for delays, shortages, or receiving discrepancies.
Daily e-commerce orders
- Review incoming orders and organize fulfillment around shipping deadlines and carrier pickup times.
- Pick, check, pack, and label customer orders accurately, using suitable packaging to protect products in transit.
- Generate shipping labels, maintain tracking information, and update order status in the relevant systems.
- Resolve fulfillment issues, including missing stock, incorrect items, damaged products, and carrier delays.
- Receive and inspect customer returns and update inventory records as appropriate.
Inventory and warehouse operations
- Receive deliveries, check quantities and condition, and put products into clearly identified storage locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and investigation of discrepancies.
- Monitor stock and packaging supplies, flag shortages early, and communicate replenishment needs.
- Keep warehouse storage, packing stations, and shipping areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Improve storage layouts and packing procedures to reduce errors, unnecessary handling, and delays.
- Communicate shipment progress, stock issues, and operational problems promptly.
Must-have qualifications
- Located within commuting distance of Whitby, Ontario, and available to work on-site.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Hands-on experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or e-commerce order fulfillment.
- Able to organize daily work, manage competing priorities, and meet shipping deadlines with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail when checking products, quantities, labels, and inventory records.
- Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, inventory systems, and online shipping tools.
- Able to learn and consistently follow Amazon FBA preparation and shipping procedures.
- Reliable, practical, and able to communicate clearly with carriers and team members.
- Able to perform hands-on warehouse duties and handle products and cartons safely.
Preferred qualifications
- Direct experience preparing and shipping Amazon FBA replenishment orders.
- Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, and e-commerce shipping platforms.
- Experience coordinating courier pickups, freight shipments, and pallet deliveries.
- Experience with inventory reconciliation, barcode scanning, or warehouse management systems.
- Previous responsibility for managing warehouse workflows or supervising warehouse staff.
- Familiarity with abrasives, tools, hardware, or industrial supplies.
What success looks like
Customer orders leave accurately and on time. FBA shipments are prepared correctly and tracked through delivery. Inventory records reflect the stock on the shelves, and the warehouse stays organized, safe, and ready for the next day’s work.
