Do you want to buy a pumpkin, or spend an afternoon at a farm? A market stop can be short. An event with a wagon, play and a pumpkin cannon is a different use of the family budget. Agree on that before presenting a child with a long list of activities you do not intend to buy.

Willowtree’s Pumpkin Palooza page describes a wagon ride to the patch, a straw jump and other outdoor activities. Pumpkins and cannon shots are separate purchases. The page links to online booking, but its text does not state a year. This guide therefore does not advertise a remaining 2026 session or admission price. Only plan an event trip once the booking calendar offers the date you want.

The location is 975 Regional Road 21 near Port Perry, outside Whitby. Include the journey when deciding whether the activity is worth the afternoon. An adult who only wants a photograph and a pumpkin may prefer a simpler shopping plan. A family looking forward to several outdoor activities has a different reason to choose a ticketed visit.

For infants, activity count may matter less than a simple visit

The October 2025 Whitby question asked whether a local farm was a produce market or a place with children’s attractions. One reply suggested a larger farm outside town. That is the useful distinction: an infant group may value an easy arrival and a short stop more than a long list of activities.

The operator recommends against taking strollers into the fields because they are difficult to use there. That matters for an infant group more than the number of games. It also prohibits dogs at the event. A simple shopping visit and a field activity have different demands, even when both involve bringing home a pumpkin.

Do not send the family to a finished market

The October 2025 farm discussion is one kind of seasonal lead; the July 2026 Durham market discussion is another. Market replies offered Brooklin, Whitby, Port Perry, Uxbridge and individual farm shops. People liked different days and different styles of shopping. Those summer suggestions do not tell you which autumn event still has tickets or which farm has pumpkins left.

There is one clear date to keep out of the plan: the regular 2026 Whitby Wednesday market ended October 14. The operator advertises later November holiday markets, but they are not replacement pumpkin outings. A generic weekly events post can keep repeating a summer schedule after the season changes. Match the plan to the operator’s actual date, and leave extra purchases such as food and pumpkins visible in the budget.
